New Year, New MP, New Me

queen_elizabeth.jpgI made a few New Years resolutions as the clock struck twelve last Wednesday. Have better posture, call my mom more often, counteract all that charcuterie and pho by getting off my lazy butt and exercising, and so on.

I've also made some blogging-related resolutions. Like, for example, I will try to let entire days go by without writing about Grant Achatz, Nick Kokonas, or Alinea in general.

And I'll look into the paperwork involved in legally changing my first name to Mike so that Sula, Gebert, and Nagrant will start inviting me to their parties.

And I'll drink more on the job, because if there's one thing I've learned in my six months driving this crazy train, it's that the more bizarre my syntax and rambling my content, the higher that ol' traffic meter climbs. And I live — positively live — for your approval via pageviews, people.

Oh, and hey, I also decided to start using the first-person singular. While I'll now be using crazy words like "I" and "me," don't let that fool you — I still carry all the authority of the crown.

  • I love blogging resolutions. So much easier to keep than say, limiting my pizza intake to twice a week.
