Foie Gras Museum to Open Inside Cyrano's Bistrot
Didier Durand, the chef at Cyrano's Bistrot, made headlines back in 2006 when he fought hard-n-dirty to overturn the infamous foie gras ban, refusing to take the fattened liver off his menu.
He's not a fair-weather foie fan: as the Times of London reports, he's now planning to open a foie gras museum — labels from the foie gras tins of French producers, documentary photographs of "elderly French peasant women stuffing corn down the throats of ducks and geese," and other memorabilia of the delicious foodstuff.
Durand ideally would like to open the Musée de Foie Gras (our name, not his) in its own space, but for the time being it looks like it'll be located inside Cyrano's. Suits us — this way you can eat it while you learn about it.
