Shill-O-Meter: Vella Cafe
Since its opening two years ago, everyone has pretty much loved Vella Cafe. So we're not sure why they felt the need to send one of their own onto MenuPages to drop a shillbomb. To wit:
I have been to Vella for brunch and dinner [1]. I was very pleased with the freshness and quality of food [2]. Not to mention its a BYOB [3]! Awesome brunch, pizza, salad and gelato [4]. I really ejoyed their mushroom pizza and their homemade gelato [5]. Definitely a favorite restaurant in my Bucktown neighborhood [6]. Check it out!
1. Hey, this restaurant is open for big, important meals like dinner and brunch! Not just breakfast and quick lunches!
2. Freshness? Seriously? No one is ever pleased with "freshness" unless the restaurant is sushi or raw-food. We don't think we'd ever describe a panini or a pizza as "fresh."
3. Did we mention it's a BYOB?
4. General reiteration of menu items without going into specifics = the review is coming from inside the house!
5. In case you didn't read that previous sentence, they'll just drive the point home.
6. The restaurant is in this neighborhood called "Bucktown," you might have heard of it? It's neighborhoody!
