Someone on Twitter is pretending to be Sun-Times restaurant critic Pat Bruno, and it's kind of hilarious. (We promise we're not the ones behind it — we're not that funny.) With smack-talking anti-Tribune tweets like "Phil Vettel couldn't find the spicy side of a pepperoni" and "What I wouldn't give for a six pack of Riunite Lambrusco and the company of Bill Daley," whoever's behind this is certainly looking to ruffle some tongue-in-cheek feathers. And the meta-universe is getting some play: the fake Pat Bruno using the moniker TheRealPatBruno is interacting with the fake Billy Dec using the moniker TheRealBillyDec. It's like when the Jetsons met the Flintstones! Hijinx!
As of this writing, the account is only about three hours old, so we'll see just how long it lasts. We kind of hope it goes on forever. And we kind of hope we never actually find out who TheRealPatBruno really is. (Okay, only a little kind of. We really want to know. Kevin Pang? Chuck Sudo? Mike Nagrant? Even — gasp — Phil Vettel?)
