Superdawg takes NYC’s Super Hot Dog to Court

New York has been laying claim to the hot dog mantle lately — even our big brother New York Magazine spent some time singing the weiner’s praise — but Chicago appears to be fighting back: Superdawg Drive-In is taking the owner of a similarly-named New York eatery to court, Crain’s Chicago reports. The Manhattan restaurant was originally slated to open as “Superdog,” but after a series of cease-and-desists from Superdawg’s lawyers, it has changed its name to “Super Hot Dog.” Despite the requested modification, Superdawg has filed suit, citing “unfair and deceptive business practices” on the part of Super Hot Dog owner Danny Omari, who is still in possession of the domain name Superdognyc.com.
