Radhika Desai Is Apparently Opening Her Own Restaurant
We had a will-she-won't-she moment a few weeks ago with the rumor that former Between Boutique Cafe & Lounge executive chef Radhika Desai would be leaving Chicago for the warm embrace of New York's Tabla restaurant. But Gapers Block's Cliff Etters caught up with Rad at last weekend's Green City Market, and got a different story: "I'm working on my own place," the former Top Chef contestant told him. "Hopefully it will open in the next year! Definite Indian influence, probably Indian-French. Very clean, classic preparation with Indian flavors."
So does this mean she's not leaving for New York? Does this mean she is leaving for New York and will be opening her own place there? Calls to Radhika and Tabla both went unanswered, but we'll keep digging on this mystery. [Gapers Block]
