What To Eat At Nana, Opening Monday

After a summer marked by delays, Nana (3267 S. Halsted St., 312 929 2486) is finally opening its doors at 6 a.m. this coming Monday. While a brunch restaurant with an ambitious MexicanLatin-American fusion menu might sound a little eccentric, for some reason this bright, light-filled space makes perfect sense for Bridgeport. Chicago Brunch Blog calls out the corn-oat waffles made with a medjool date-sweetened batter of raw oats, cornmeal and vanilla soymilk and the house special "Nanadict," a pupusa decked out with crumbled chorizo, poached eggs, and in lieu of the traditional hollandaise, a poblano sauce. For the less breakfast-inclined, a lunch menu rounds things out with a fairly conventional collection of burgers, salads, and sandwiches. Keep reading for the full menu.
