Things are looking rosy for the Green City Market, who just received a $76,300 grant from the USDA Farmers Market Initiative Program. The money will go to help meet overhead costs, as well as to establish a Green City Market Farmer Scholarship Program to help farmers get third-party certification as organic or sustainable, which the market will require of all vendors by 2012.
