Pat Bruno’s main review this week is a three-star for Lockwood, where he finds a skirt steak to be “immaculate splendor” and revels in the “full-blown goodness” of a brownie dessert. It’s all hunky dory on Bruno’s side of the table (okay, so a peach cobbler was more cobble than peach), but over on his blog, Lockwood chef Phillip Foss paints a picture from the chef’s perspective: “I hope I was here when he came in. Did I go to his table? I hope the food was seasoned. I hope the plates were clean. I hope the food was cooked right. I hope I get a raise. I hope I don’t get fired. I hope my girls get college educations. I wish I had a flux capacitor.” Seems unlikely that Foss will get fired after a rave like this. Breathe easy.
