Wednesday night November 4, Steve McDonagh and Dan Smith re-fling open the doors of their Wrigleyville studio for its latest incarnation, Hearty (3819 N. Broadway, (773) 868-9866). While McDonagh and Smith are still tweaking the comfort-Southern-deconstructed menu in advance of Wednesday’s opening, the general sense of a 1960s cocktail party gone contemporary-upscale remains: we’ll soon be eating deviled eggs, Waldorf salad, and tuna casserole without any irony at all, while swilling negronis like there’s no tomorrow. It’s worth a revisit of their anticipated opening menu to get your mouth watering.
