Sonotheque is closing November 15, and it looks like it’ll become the latest in the national chain of retro-salon-themed Beauty Bars. TOC reports that part of the ownership team (including Terry Alexander and Donnie Madia) have sold their stakes in Sonotheque to a new group of owners, which includes Paul Devitt. Devitt is the owner of Beauty Bar, which has seven locations, including New York, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Before Devitt’s involvement was confirmed, Chicagoist postulated that the new Sonotheque would become a “super trendy house of crap” — arguably, they are not wrong. [TOC, Chicagoist]
