What to Eat at Longman and Eagle, Opening in 2010

We’ve been nothing short of intrigued by Longman and Eagle since its opening was mysteriously announced last month. Until now we’ve focused most of our attention on the whole “there will be bedrooms!” angle, but with the release of their opening menu we could arguably find ourselves swayed by the food. The upscale-comfort-bar-food-ish menu is exactly the sort of stuff that pairs perfectly with a few slugs of whiskey: salty brandade with duck fat-fried potato chips, a sauerkraut salad studded with housemade pork sausage, a sunnyside-up duck egg over beef tongue hash with black truffle vinaigrette, charmoula-spiced tuna loin floating in a cannelini bean ragout and foie broth. Read on for the full offerings.
