El Bulli Goes on Hiatus

By

At the Madrid Fusion food conference today, El Bulli chef Ferran Adrià announced that he will be taking a sabbatical for the 2012 and 2013 seasons, temporarily closing his Costa Brava restaurant in order to give his culinary creativity a chance to reboot. (Also! Maybe to open a pizzeria?) In any case, get your reservations in while you still can or hold off strategically, since Adrià promises that the new El Bulli will be something entirely new, saying only that "I know that when I return it will not be the same."
