Xoco was the big winner at Time Out Chicago’s Eat Out Awards last night, pulling in both the Best New Restaurant and Best New Mexican Restaurant. But you know what? While we’d like to congratulate the many winners, we were frankly obsessed with who would win the award for Best Indie Restaurant Blog.

What’s usually the tamest category of any major food awards show, turned surprisingly vicious this year as the four nominated food blogs scuffled over votes, sarcastically questioned each other’s integrity, and generally made the whole process a lot more interesting than it had any right to be. By the end of the ordeal the Chicago Gluttons had even promised that if they won, they’d make a video of themselves devouring a White Castle slider for every vote they received.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce that Chicago Gluttons won! Luckily, plans for what is sure to be one of the most disgusting clips of film ever made, are still on. Still no word on the official tally, but the Gluttons reckon the total is definitely over a 1,000.
