Accanto opened last week, adding upscale Italian to the list of new Logan Square restaurants. It’s located in what used to be the dining room of a pizzeria named Lucky Vito’s on on Milwaukee Ave, just south of Revolution Brewing. (Lucky Vito’s is now just a takeout and delivery operation.) The pizzeria’s sign still hangs prominently above Accanto, but there is no confusing the two menus.
Accanto’s chef, Domenico Acampora, is from Milan, and he has had some impressive restaurant experience, including a stint at the Four Seasons in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and at Le Cirque in New York. His menu here leans heavily on classic Northern Italian dishes including risotto, handmade ravioli, and braised lamb. It’s easily the most expensive Italian restaurant in the area.
