The affront on Chicago pizza continues, as Pizzeria Serio finally opens its doors up tomorrow in Roscoe Village. The restaurant is taking the "Authentic New York Pizza" route, which essentially means that they'll have a brick oven that will reach 800 degrees. This follows the news yesterday that Great Lake would start serving Sicilian slices to go. The Chicago Pizza Club had a sneak peek at the pizza a few days ago, but everyone should be able to dig in tomorrow starting at 4 p.m.
The menu is luckily short, with just two appetizers, three salads, and the rest taken up by pizza. The pizzas are 14", which isn't quite as big as typical New York standards. There are eight specialty pizzas including something called "Meat Your Heart Out." It's BYOB for the moment, though the liquor license will come by the start of summer.
