Eat Some Blackhawk Pride

We can’t be the only Chicagoans to jump on the Blackhawk bandwagon a little late in the game, but that doesn’t mean we are not going to try and get pumped up about the Stanley Cup Finals. Of course, every single bar in the city will probably show the games, so finding a bar to watch one at is as easy as throwing a dart out the window. But there are a couple of kitschy Blackhawk themed dishes around that may help get you in that hockey mood. Or not. Either way, Geisha Sushi Lounge in Wicker Park has been pushing this Blackhawk-themed sushi deal for well over a month, but now might be the time to actually check it out. You can pick between the seasoned blue crab Blackhawks Roll, whole jumbo shrimp Spicy Tataki Toews Roll, or the Alaskan king crab Kane-ihama Roll. But that isn’t the only deal.

The most appetizing promotion looks to be the cupcakes at More. The gourmet sweetshop in the Gold Coast will feature some red and white cupcakes with some very appropriate titles on top like “Go Hawks” or “One Goal.” This is probably best for your civilized Blackhawk party. We imagine they will be tasty.

On the other end of the spectrum is the gluttonous promotion going on at the Lucky Monk in suburban Barrington, which will pass around some appetizers after every goal the Blackhawks score.

As for us, we are heading out early for the weekend. So, enjoy the more favorable weather, try not a pre-load before the Saturday game too much, and go Hawks!
