The Stew just got word that Kaplan’s Liquors in Bridgeport will reopen in late-August as Maria’s. Apparently locals have been calling it this name for awhile now in honor of the owner Maria Marszewski. Anyway, more will change than just the name. The dive bar is getting some fancy new drinks courtesy of The Whistler’s head mixologist, Paul McGee, who is consulting on the new cocktail menu. This isn’t the first time he has lent his drink expertise to another place, as he also made his mark on the Gilt cocktail list. Still, this is good news for all in Bridgeport. [The Stew]
