Unlike just about every other rock festival in the country, the food vendors lined up for Lollapalooza are almost as impressive as the bands. With Graham Elliot Bowles on as the Culinary Director, the festival will showcase booths from some of the most exciting restaurants in the city. Big Star, Kuma’s Corner, Sunda, The Southern, More Cupcakes, and Metropolis Coffee were all on hand for a preview event last night at Graham Elliot to showcase some of the items that will be available at this year's event.
Organizer and lead singer of Jane’s Addiction, Perry Farrell, was on hand to bless the event, and to snatch up as many samples as he possibly could. Graham Elliot Bowles’ lobster corn dog made a triumphant return, along with his restaurant staple of truffle popcorn. Sunda and Big Star both dished out competing pork belly dishes, while The Southern served up a cool shrimp cocktail. The "slider" from Kuma’s Corner still dwarfed most fast food burgers.
Check out the abbreviated menu below, along with some pictures of food, which was all presented in small sample portions.
