Along the packed aisles of Chicago liquor stores, keep an eye out for the new arrival of Fair Vodka — the first Vodka made with quinoa, which is an accomplishment in itself, but it’s fair trade-certified quinoa to boot. The ethics of food and drink is important, of course, but however morally upright the stuff is, it’s got to taste good. We sampled, um, a few glasses last week and can confirm that Fair is very clean, light and, like most vodka, almost (but not quite) flavorless — as it should be, since it won a 93-point gold metal at the Chicago Beverage Institute last November.
