Phillip Foss dishes out the booze.Photo: Nick Kindelsperger
The Speakeasy Throwback charity event packed the Empire Room in the Palmer House with some of the best chefs in the city last night. Stephanie Izard (Girl & Goat), Mike Sheerin (Blackbird), Koren Grieveson (Avec), Ryan Poli (Perennial), Todd Stein (cibo matto), and Curtis Duffy (Avenues) were just a few of the chefs that dished out appetizers to the guests. Of course, being a speakeasy event, the booze was of special importance. Koval Distillery, North Shore Distillery, Death’s Door Spirits, and Templeton Rye were all there mixing up cocktails. Best of all was Phillip Foss, who donned a remarkable dinner jacket, and spent much of the evening serving guests from a large bathtub filled with all locally made liquor. We got a few shots of the remarkable event, which benefited the Shawn Koch Foundation.
