It’s been well over a month since a tragic fire shut down Avec. Early reports claimed that the restaurant would probably reopen soon, but that has obviously changed. Though the fire didn’t do much damage to the interior of the building, there does need to be repairs to the grease-chute. Unfortunately, that requires securing the proper permits to continue and those are taking a long time to get. According to Crain’s, Avec has three of the five that it needs, and plans to get the other two by next week. Still, this means that the restaurant won’t open until at least October. [Crain’s]
