Though Aldino’s closed in Little Italy a few months ago, you better believe that Scott Harris hasn’t left Taylor Street behind. Along with the very successful Francesca on Taylor, he’s opening the CooKoo Room in the old Aldino’s space, and getting ready to open Davanti Enoteca this Monday. It’ll sit in the old La Vita space. And absolutely as the rumors claimed, the menu features a collection of small plates including vasi, which are small mason jars filled with various spreads. It will also serve traditional antipasti, pasta, and pizza.
As we also found out last month, the wine bar will sell bottles of wine to go, or allow you to open them with your meal for a $7 corkage fee. It may not sound like the greatest deal, but with wine markups frequently far more than that, it’s actually a pretty good deal. Check out the full menu here.
