No pita for the South Loop.

Though rumored for an August opening, it looks like Pita Corner in the South Loop will not open at all. According to a tip on Sloopin, “The chef partner left/got thrown out (not sure which one) and they were looking for a new partner.” A new restaurant may open in the empty space, but this is still unfortunate news for those looking for a new pita place. In other sad South Loop news, it appears that India Grill also recently closed. A call confirmed that the restaurant’s phone number has been disconnected. [Sloopin]
