Yesterday we reported that Harry Caray’s was leaving its Wrigleyville location due to issues with the landlord. Of course, having an issue with a landlord isn’t necessarily anything new. But everything got a little more interesting today when that landlord announced that he was planning on filling the space with his own bar called Benchwarmers. That name should sound vaguely familiar since it was the former occupant of the space before Harry Caray’s moved in, gutted everything, completely redesigned it, and then opened in 2008.
