We were just sent this link from Alain Maes, a French food and wine consultant, who has put together a startlingly complete roundup of French food in the Windy City between the years 1959 and 1969. He divides the list between “Restaurants that were actually owned and/or managed by French people” and “Restaurants that pretended to be ‘French’ and sometimes served decent ‘French’ food but were not owned or managed by French people.” Awesome, right?
