Art Jackson, the co-owner of the upcoming Pleasant House Bakery in Bridgeport, claims he got the idea to open a shop selling savory pies from his grandmother: “She was an excellent cook, and told me that if I ever opened my own place, it should sell pies.” The eatery will feature a collection of seasonal offerings, with many of the ingredients coming from his own garden. The pies will be individually sized, and you can expect a steak and ale, steak and cheese, and various vegetable pies to make the list. He’ll be opening it with his wife Chelsea Kalberloh-Jackson, and it will feature 15 to 20 seats, with an outdoor patio in the summer. It is tentatively set to open in the spring.
