To be sure, Paris Club isn’t the only French restaurant opening this winter. Actually, it isn’t even the only one this week, as Bistronomic opened its doors just a few days ago. The restaurant features the cooking of Martial Noguier, who had previously been the executive chef at Cafe des Architectes. It is located in the Gold Coast, at the site that used to house Eve, which closed on New Year’s Eve. From the beginning Noguier planned for Bistronomic to be “modern bistro,” with “good food” that hopefully wouldn’t be “that complicated on the plate.” Well, we finally got a look at that menu, and while that is certainly true, he forgot to warn us about all of the cheese.

We’re not sure if we’ve ever seen cheese take such a prominent portion of a menu before. You can order cheese flights, domestic artisanal cheese, warm cheeses, or a grilled cheese sandwich of the day. That’s just on the first page of the menu! The second page is divided into small plates, medium plates, and large plates. This is where you’ll find all the modern French bistro dishes that Noguier had claimed he was going to offer. All of the entrees are under $26, unless you count the whole roasted chicken with mushroom ragout for $30. Of course, that dish also feeds two to three people.
