• Burgers, burgers, and burgers. That’s about all you really need to know about The Ace Bar, which just opened in Sheffield. Sure, it’s a “rock-and-roll bar” that will feature a good selection of local brews. The spot claims to be serving 20 different kinds of burgers, featuring nine different kinds of meat. Sounds a lot like Kuma’s to us, but considering the mad lines that how up daily at that Avondale spot, the city was in need of a new burger bar. [Urban Daddy]

• It’s not exactly a new restaurant, but it is a new concept. Lawry’s The Prime Rib is launching an “Evening Ale & Sandwich Bar” on April 25. The menu features a collection of “shared plates-focused menu of sandwiches, bites, appetizers, charcuterie and local cheeses.” The restaurant has been offering a variation of this for lunch, but are now targeting the after work crowd. Of course, if you just must have a whole slab of prime rib, the full menu will be available upon request.

The Brown Bag Truck hit the road this week, serving up barbecue with a slight Asian twist. According to Time Out, it’s the latest project for Joaquin Soler, who got that idea while visiting Austin. That city has a much bigger and better food truck culture than we do, but he claims that he figured out how to serve barbecue while respecting Chicago’s strict food truck laws. Check the truck out on Twitter to see where it heads next. [TOC]
