• The West Loop restaurant opening spree continues. As Eater reported earlier, Dion Antic, the man behind Bagel on Damen and the unfortunately closed Rockstar Dogs, is set to open Porkchop on May 9. There is, in fact, a pork chop on the menu, along with a lot of other meaty options. The joint will also have at least 40 varieties of whiskey which will apparently only be served neat. Time Out has a copy of the working menu, which you should definitely check out. [TOC]

Potbelly is getting ready to open its 38th (!) outlet in Chicago next Tuesday, May 3. The new location will be in the Gold Coast, and it will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Considering its prime location next to Michigan Avenue, it might be the place to refuel before you get back to the shopping game.

• There has been a string of new openings in the Loop recently, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. One cuisine that the area definitely needs more of is Indian. Besides Chutney Joe’s, we can’t think of another suitable choice. Luckily, Curried, an Indian “fast-casual” joint, is planning to open in mid-May. [Chicago Mag]

• Derby, which is being billed as a British American Grill, is planning to open “later this summer” in Lincoln Park. The restaurant will be located in the former Charlie’s Ale House. Currently the space is being completely rehabbed, but according to Eater, you can eventually expect a mix of traditional English pub fare and more American offerings. [Eater]
