If the name Calabruzzi sounds vaguely familiar but impossible to locate in any Italian dictionary, don’t worry. This brand new Bridgeport spot takes its name by joining the two regions that the owner’s parents were from in Italy (Calabria and Abruzzia, respectfully). Clever. The restaurant claims that the menu is a mix of central and southern Italian cooking, which is mostly true. Still, we also noticed a few solid Chicago classics thrown in the mix (chicken vesuvio, party-cut pizza, and Italian beef).
