West Loop: Patrick Fahy has decided to leave Blackbird. The acclaimed pastry chef was recently nominated for a James Beard Award and a Jean Banchet Award. Lakeview: Firkin & Pheasant has been renamed Michael Diversey’s, after the 19th century brewer and former alderman. As the change suggests, the bar and restaurant will focus more of its attention on regional craft beers. [Grub Street]
Uptown: The Purple Cow Ice Cream Cafe opened its doors on Sunday. Along with 20 flavors of ice cream, the shop will also serve some pastries, cookies, and candy. [Uptown Update]

The deal allows for 75 guests and includes a cocktail reception with passed hors d’oeuvres, a five-course tasting menu with wine, an open bar, three-tiered wedding cake, flowers, and a post-dinner reception with a DJ. Avondale: Hot Doug’s is currently closed until June 3, but when it reopens it will start serving the “Intonation Dog” to help benefit Intonation Music Workshop. The charity sausage will be available from June 4 through 10. [A.V. Club]
