Foodease Coming Soon to Water Tower Place

Normally, we have little interest in food courts, especially food court news, but this is different. Crain’s just broke the news about an epic new project set to open in the fall in Water Tower Place. Called Foodease (foodies, get it?), it will triple the dining options currently in Foodlife — the mall’s current food court, which was renovated a few years ago. What can you expect? The larger space allows for a “bigger assortment of salads, sandwiches and ready-made deli products.” That said, we’re definitely most excited about a third location of M Burger.

Along with the burger joint, plans include a wine bar, a sushi bar, and a “phone-booth” sized room of chocolates. Lettuce Entertain You, which is developing the concept, also hopes to expand Foodease to other locations. A second one was actually scheduled to appear at Block 37 in the Loop, but troubles with that development have put the project on hold for now.

The current Foodease will be located in the former Lord & Taylor space. Sixty percent of the 7,500-square-foot location will be developed into the new food court, with the remaining area set to become a private event space. In other words, it will be huge. To be clear, Foodlife will remain, as will the other new projects in the mall like Mity Nice.
