Loop: It just got a little easier to snag a sandwich downtown, as Pret a Manger opened its third Chicago location last Friday. The latest outlet for the British chain is open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Its menu is the same as the first location, which came to the city last September. Plans are in the works for more storefronts, but nothing is definite right now. [Grub Street]

Bucktown: After a fundraising campaign, Pipeworks Brewing Company finally has enough money to open a brewery in Bucktown. The company will both brew and sell beer at the location, and plans to open in the late fall. [Trib]

Bucktown: The Feast reports that Mindy Segal is planning to open a “totally unconventional” European bakery soon. The shop will sell various handmade breads and desserts, and will also have a bar. The exact location hasn’t yet been revealed, but Segal does plan to stay in Bucktown. [The Feast]
