South Loop: After a few delays, Tribute announced that it would finally open its doors on July 7. Located in the Essex Inn, it plans to be a “classic American restaurant with a modern culinary edge,” and will feature the cooking of Lawrence Letrero. [Grub Street]

Mt. Prospect: One of Chicago’s most iconic restaurants, the Billy Goat Tavern, is preparing to open an outlet in the suburbs. The hamburger joint may be famous for its subterranean location under Michigan Ave, and for a certain Saturday Night Light sketch, but it already has numerous locations around the city, including one in Washington D.C. The Mt. Prospect location will be followed by one in Aurora. [Trib]

Gold Coast: Did you know that July was National Ice Cream Month? Starting tomorrow, Mity Nice will be offering a daily ice cream special for the whole month. Check out all of the deals by clicking here.

River North: Rock Bottom Brewery just released a brand new lunch and dinner menu by chef Christopher McCoy. New items include sesame calamari, hazelnut-crusted chicken, and a 19-ounce Bone In Ribeye with a chocolate-malted crust. Check out the full menu here [PDF]. [Grub Street]
