The Tribunue reports that Donatella Majore died on Monday when her scooter was struck by a mini-van on Western Avenue in Rogers Park. What the article didn’t mention was whether she was the same person who ran Donatella Mediterranean Bistro. The restaurant didn’t answer any of our calls, but its Facebook page confirms the sad news. She ran also the much-loved La Cucina di Donatella for years, before opening up the bistro in Evanston last year. [Trib]
