Not since Eatzi’s has there been a vertical mall food market with so annoyingly cute a name, but Lettuce Entertain You’s FOODease will undoubtedly be greeted happily by residents of the high-rises around Water Tower for offering a wide range of gourmet experiences well beyond the salads and slice pizza of Foodlife. Highlights of what they’re calling a “restaurant quality market” include a wine bar and wine shop (branded with LEYE Master Sommelier Alpana Singh’s imprimatur), prepared foods ranging from meatloaf to sushi, and a Chocolate Room (which Chicagoist said was more like a chocolate closet, but still had a nice selection). There’s also The Freezer, which is to say, there’s a freezer case with frozen pizza in it, and Farm Stand, which is to say a produce aisle, but in something this heavily concepted, everything gets a name in capital letters. And if you just can’t decide between meatloaf, sushi or chocolate with your wine, an M Burger will be coming soon next door. Truly, you’ll never have to go outside again.
