Alpana Singh’s new venture will… include wine. Shocker, we know. She told Crain’s in an email today that she plans to open a wine bar and restaurant with Bistronomic owners Matt Fisher and John Ward. Other details like location, direction of wine program, etc. are noticeably lacking but will no doubt be filled in, though Crain’s does report that they’ve been looking at a space at Wells and Superior which has housed a variety of nightclubs which we never heard of and you probably haven’t either. Wherever and whatever it turns out to be, this venture undoubtedly jumps to close to the front of the line among 2012’s most-watched openings; after several years as a corporate wine director influencing other restaurants, it will be fascinating to see what Singh offers customers at a spot of her own.
