The Association of Writers & Writing Programs is a big deal in the world of publishing, taking over both the Palmer House Hilton and the Hilton Chicago for its book fair, conferences and more for which nearly 10,000 attendees are expected. Besides the official events, lots of side events spin off of it in every venue in Chicago... like hot dog stands. America's Dog at State and Adams will be the host for one such event Match 1st at 7:00 p.m. Many great poems have been written about hot dogs ("The Char Dog of the Light Brigade," "The Love Song of J. Alfred Corndog"... okay we'll stop now) and this will be your chance to hear readings by notable poets including Alice Jones, Travis Cebula and Lori Anderson Moseman. The event is free and books will be available; find out more here.
