Festival news #1: the Chicago Food Film Festival, which we chronicled here last time, is now accepting submissions now through June 29th for the 2012 edition to be held in November. Find out more about categories and rules here. This is a great event which mostly sells out each year, so if you’ve thought about making any kind of movie about Chicago food, now’s the time!
• Festival news #2: Baconfest has released its complete list of vendors. You either have tickets or you don’t at this point for the April 12 event, but even if you don’t, drool over the list here.
• And on a more serious note, Eater reports that Chef Michael Altenberg, who died a few weeks ago, did not leave life insurance for his family, so friends of the much-admired locavore pioneer are raising a fund for college and medical needs here.
