Here’s a cool video from Mark Bazer’s The Interview Show (a talk show staged frequently at The Hideout), featuring Michael Kornick (MK, DMK Burger Bar, Ada Street, etc.). Bazer asks Kornick about his career, but what he gets is a history of the growth of Chicago’s food scene (and the American foodie scene generally), from Kornick’s days as a 23-year-old chef at Gordon’s (back when its River North neighbors weren’t other restaurants but flop houses and leather bars) to the explosion of the food scene today. It’s a perceptive take on how we all got to this strange and wonderful food point, and it runs about 13 minutes, below. [via HuffPo]
