Feel Like BBQ Tonight? You’re In Luck (And Can Do Some Good)

Monday is a tough night to get barbecue, as so many of the better BBQ spots are closed on Mondays. Unless they’re spending that day off making more barbecue for charity, like they are tonight. Ten top pitmasters, from Dave Raymond of Sweet Baby Ray’s to Barry Sorkin of Smoque to Lee Ann Whippen of ChicagoQ, will be cooking for the Illinois BBQ Alliance’s fall fundraiser, Autumn Smoke. Money raised goes to various relief efforts— we have a feeling a certain hurricane may be involved soon— and the drinks and eats include off-menu items from the pitmasters and chefs, a craft beer bar, live music, a raffle and good cheer. It’s tonight from 6 to 9 at The Warehouse at Carmichael’s, 1052 W. Monroe, and $50 gets you your admission and a year membership to the Illinois BBQ Alliance; go here to get yours.
