Chicagoans’ favorite dining time, Restaurant Week, is just around the corner. This year, it’s taking place a tad earlier than usual, beginning Feb. 1 and running through Feb. 10. Over 250 restaurants will participate, serving lunch for $22 and dinner for either $33 or $44 (depends on the place), and they run the gamut from mega-fancy steakhouse (III Forks), to specialty store cafes (Fred’s at Barneys New York) to beloved Chicago institutions (Le Colonial, Blackbird, The Gage).

Since 2012 was a year of innumerable restaurant openings, this year brings about a bevy of newcomers such as Embeya, Balena and RPM Italian among others, and we’re interested to see the reaction of those restaurants after their first Restaurant Week.

Because RW is so popular and patrons to the restaurants can top 400,000 in a ten-day span, you should absolutely call to reserve seats ahead of time. The restaurants have already begun taking reservations. For the full list of participants, go here.

And if you want a preview of what’s to come during Restaurant Week, check out the First Bites Bash at Union Station on Jan. 24. 100 percent of the proceeds go to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Grab tix here.
