Super Bowl XLVII goes down this Sunday, pitting the Baltimore Ravens against the San Francisco 49ers in what many of the hardcore, football-obsessed are saying could be the most exciting championship game in the history of the NFL. While the action plays out on the gridiron, all that’s required of you is, stuffing your gluttonous gullet with Buffalo wings, nachos, hot dogs and beer. No plans? No problem! The fact that the Eagles are yet again sitting this one out doesn’t mean that Philly’s restaurants are too. Keep reading to find where to go, and what to eat and drink.

Ela: There’s only one way to start a super day: With a super breakfast. And Jason Cichonski and his crew have augmented their Sunday brunch menu with additions that are fit for a starting linebacker. They include a $12 meal deal that piles three eggs cooked as you like, house-cured bacon, hash browns, and biscuits, all paired with a your choice of draft beer. Should that prove to be too much brawn for one breakfast, there’s also going to be a Wagyu beef steak and eggs option, plus Ela’s usual brunch fare.

SoWe: The G-Ho bar and restaurant is rolling out a big NoLa send-up for the big game. A “tailgate” party gets underway at 4 p.m., with $1 hot dogs, and $2 Abitas. They’ll keep the good times rolling after kickoff, with $5 hurricanes, and $3 Abitas from 6:30 p.m. on. Specials for the evening include Catfish, gumbo, oyster po’ boys and bourbon bread pudding.

South Philly Bar & Grill: On a much healthier tip, SPB&G; is teaming with the non-profit Female Football Frenzy for a party that will benefit the American Heart Association. The heart-healthy menu will feature AHA-approved dishes like Chop Block Crudités with fat-free ranch dressing; Lateral Lettuce Wraps with cashew Cchicken stir-fry; Red Zone Roasted Vegetable Wrap; and Extra Point Pasta Primavera made with roasted vegetables and whole-wheat pasta. Of course Skinny Girl cocktails and Yuengling Light drafts will be on special, too. The fun kicks off at 6 p.m. Tickets run $10 and $25.

City Tap House and Field House: The Tap House kicks things off on Friday night with a Tailgate Dinner and beer pairing, featuring smoked pork sliders with pickled jalapenos and “secret” sauce; Brat and Kraut, boudin blanc sausage with caramelized onions, sauerkraut and beer cheese sauce; Big Texas beef chili with Guayaquil chocolate, roasted baby potatoes and lime crema; and mini donuts with bourbon-maple glaze, vanilla and pecans. The $40 per person pre-game spread includes dinner and beers, plus guests will also receive a growler to take home. Throughout the entire weekend, beers from San Francisco and Baltimore like Anchor Steam, and 21st Amendment, as well as National Bohemian (Ain’t the Beer Cold!), The Brewer’s Art and Stillwater will be on draft.

Over at the Filed House on game day, a “Whistle to Whistle” special will be in play. That means for $35, fans can enjoy endless chicken wings (House Hot Sauce; Anchor Bar Buffalo; and Crispy Vietnamese), and select beers (Yards Philly Pale Ale; Yards Brawler; Coors Light; and Blue Moon) will be available from the game’s first to last whistle blows.

Kite & Key: For the big game, Kite & Key’s hosting a “Savage Super Bowl” edition of its Sixtel Sunday blowouts. They are promising an incredible lineup of precious and prized beers that will go on draft at 7 p.m. The only hitch is, they’re not saying what they are until tap time.
