They may be monuments of 20th century architecture now, but Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie Style homes were once simply places where people sat on (legendarily uncomfortable) furniture and looked really modern while eating. Now that can be you at one of Wright's most famous landmarks— the Robie House in Hyde Park. Starting tonight, every Friday evening in April from 5 to 8 p.m. the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust invites you in to share drinks, appetizers and acoustic jazz in what's been designated one of the 10 most significant buildings of the 20th century by the American Institute of Architects. (See if they'll let you knock back the cocktails like that at Le Corbusier's Notre Dame de Haut!) Tickets are $35/$30 for Preservation Trust members; go here to make (strongly recommended) advance reservations. [Gaper's Block]
