If you love cheese, if you'd like to know more about French cheese... there's an event coming up Saturday, May 18 that you will want to know about. It's a pop-up cheese cafe for one day from The Cheeses of France, a marketing group for high quality French cow's milk cheeses in the U.S. The pop-up café will feature samples, demos and more than 20 French cows-milk cheeses, all available for sale at wholesale prices. Check, Please finalist Catherine DeOrio and chef Nick Lacasse, formerly of The Drawing Room and Bravo's Around the World in 80 Plates, will be doing demos and making dishes for guests to try; besides tasting cheeses including Brie, Camembert, Fourme dAmbert and Pont lEvêque, there will be complimentary wines and soft drinks. It will be at 1051 N. Rush Street from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; admission is free.
