Get Tickets For the 5th Annual Slow Food Pig Roast June 9

The annual Slow Food Chicago Pig Roast brings together a bunch of heritage pigs, a bunch of cool chefs, beer (since it happens at Goose Island Beer Company’s plant on Fulton), music— and fundraising for Slow Food’s educational and farmer-supportive activities. It is, in other words, a good party and a good thing, and well worth attending— even if you’re a vegetarian, because there will be vegetarian choices from Handlebar as well. The hogs this year are Duroc and Duroc crossbreds from Gunthorp; the chefs, besides Goose Island’s own Andrew Hroza, are Paul Fehribach of Big Jones, Curtis Gamble of Bread and Wine, Beverly Kim, currently of Kendall College, Rob Levitt of The Butcher & Larder, and Jared Van Camp of Old Town Social and Nellcôte, while desserts are from Sarah Mispagel of Nightwood. It’s June 9 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and admission is $70 (or $90 if you want to make a donation to the fund to send a delegate to Slow Food’s international conference, Tierra Madre). Get tickets and find out more here.
