Denmark’s latest “It” chef and America’s reigning celebrity baker are buddies, it turns out: Chad Robertson, of San Francisco’s Tartine, met Christian Puglisi in Copenhagen, where the Italian-Norwegian Noma alum owns the Michelin-starred Relæ, along with three other ventures, and the two have been collaborating ever since. (Puglisi guest-cheffed at Robertson’s Bar Tartine; Robertson has provided inspiration for Puglisi’s new bakery and pizzeria, and even written the foreword to Puglisi’s Relae: A Book of Ideas, out next month.)

So what brings them to Manhattan’s Rose Bakery on November 13, where Robertson will pair his breads with Puglisi’s savory courses, and Rose Bakery’s Matthew Lodes will handle dessert? “I had always admired Chad’s work and loved his Tartine cookbooks,” says Rose Bakery founder and namesake, Rose Carrarini. “We had hoped to introduce his bread to the East Coast.” And so she will, for one night at least.

Tickets cost $150, including Champagne and wine but not tax or gratuity, and can be purchased at rosebakeryevents@dsm-ny.com or by phone at 646-837-7754; signed books by both visiting chefs and Carrarini will be available for sale.
